Olivia and BoOlivia's preschool sent home a stuffed bear named "Bo" last week. The kids take turns bringing her and "Curly" home, and writing about their time together in a journal. She actually had an opportunity to bring home Curly earlier, but she wanted to wait for Bo. I wrote in the journal about their time together with some help from Olivia.
Dear Journal,
I was so happy that Bo could come with me! I gave her lots of hugs and kisses -- she likes bear hugs! I made sure that Bo was buckled in with me in my booster seat. When we got home I put a red cheerleader shirt on Bo and took her outside to play and explore in the backyard. There is a tree that fell over in our yard, but it is still alive. Bo and I had a lot of fun climbing in the tree and playing; we pretended we were sprites and the tree was our home. We played and played and played. At night Bo slept with me in my bed. I gave her a big bear hug and she snuggled with me.
On the second day I didn't have to go to school because it was Friday. Bo and I took Cora to school then we played in the school library while Mommy did some work. Bo even went with me when we did some shopping for my birthday. After Cora got out of school we went home and played some more.
On the third day, May 10th, it was my birthday! I love Bo so much -- I hugged her, and hugged her, and hugged her! When I woke up with Bo snuggling with me, I was 5 years old! We had a very day for my birthday! We had cake and cupcakes together and got very messy! Cousin Dana gave me a stuffed pony and I named her "Cheese Puff." Cheese Puff and Bo first met when we went to bed; Bo was in bed, then Cheese Puff got in bed and they gave each other lots of kisses! They kissed me all over too! Bo really likes carrot juice blend and she wrote me a note that said she loved carrot juice blend, and she loved staying with me, and she also said she is a girl. I really, really, really like her and I wish that she can stay. I don't know why , but I really wish she could stay.
Love, OliviaWe didn't return Bo until today, because we forgot her on Monday and Tuesday. Bo really didn't do much after Saturday because the party, and cousin Lorenzo, and new toys, the Eiffel tower model, and Cheese Puff sort of took over Olivia's attentions. I wish I could write fast enough sometimes (and could remember long enough) to try to get word for word what Olivia says about things. Some of the journal was purely me writing about what Olivia did (she couldn't really remember everything). And some of it was my attempt to get what Olivia had to say word for word. I love the way she expresses herself.
