Today was Olivia's first day in kindergarten! Olivia was so excited about going to school, last night she asked me, "Is tomorrow my first day of school?" When I told her yes, she jumped up and down and said, "YES!" Olivia is in Mrs. Chik's class (that makes Olivia a Chiklette), I took a picture of her outside her class and with Mrs. Chik at the door. Today's class was really an orientation, so I stayed with Olivia in her class, filling out some paperwork and going on a discovery hunt. They read stories and colored, and went out to play on the playground with Ms. Nye, the other kindergarten teacher.
Today was also Cora's first day in second grade! Olivia and I went with Cora to her class this morning and spent the first twenty minutes there with her. Cora and her classmates got right to work on some fun activities planned by Mrs. Proctor. Yesterday was the school picnic and I took the picture of Cora and her friends McKenna and A.J., and Olivia in the Bear Cave in their classroom. Cora is really excited about seeing all her friends again, being a second grade BEAR, and playing outside at recess time. Today was just a half day, and neither one of the girls wanted to leave once school got out. So we stayed after and played on the playground, Cora climbing and playing fairies with her friends, Olivia swinging and swinging and climbing, but mostly swinging.
